Winter fishing with friends

Fishing is a traditional livelihood in Kalajoki, however, there are not many professional fishermen around anymore. Many retired fishermen spend winter days out on the ice, checking the nets and sharing good fisherman’s stories. Care to join and join the real locals?

Warming sunshine, thick overalls, and biting frost. We walk from the safari house to the fishing spot and join the locals while they check their nets. We get to have a go at ice-fishing with rods too, while we sip on some hot beverage and enjoy a sandwich.
