This ski trip takes you exploring the very nature that locals call home. Guided by a professional wilderness guide, we reach hidden places locals prefer to visit. You’ll find yourself on a frozen lake or bog, embracing the calmness of nature, like a true Finn! We use skin-based skis for good grip and adjust the route to fit the group.
This ski trip is purposeful not only for us, but also for nature, as we help birds by maintaining their houses during our day of skiing. This is a fun and easy activity involving replacing old bedding with fresh material as well as simple mending if necessary. By joining this ski trip, you provide safe nesting spots for birds to raise their young while learning about bird life in Finland.
A warm and hearty lunch completes our day outdoors! Surrounded by the wintery landscape, we gather around the fire to enjoy a delicious wild food lunch. Trying local wild food in winter strengthens our experience in nature and deepens our understanding of life in the north.
